Tube Lines
As easy as alpha, bravo, charlie

Tube Lines wanted to encourage employees, many of who did not use English as their first language, to use the phonetic alphabet in all communications. The aim was to reverse an increase in safety issues caused as result of miscommunication.

Campaign collateral included posters placed in offices and depots and wallet-sized alphabet cards for all employees.

The posters used commonly-used acronyms to help employees familiarise themselves with the phonetic alphabet.
